Week Three Recap
Sunny and Beautiful in Armory Park
What a weekend for kickball... Romaine Jackson joined us once again in the Hyperdome at Stan Luchka Field, and the over-capacity crowd consisted of dogs, children, bathing-suited maidens sunning themselves, fruit vendors and a lively game of cornhole. Exactly what a Saturday should be.
Thanks need to go out to Narragansett (thanks Heather!), Chilango’s (thanks Carlos!), and Dan (Holy Moonshine!) once again for helping to keep the spirits high during the four-hour spectacle. At the same time, our hearts, thoughts, and prayers are with Tucker during this time, as he had to spend another weekend away from the festivities due to back problems... that, or his alarm clock didn’t go off.
Water Bottles
League water bottles went out to the eight teams that played this past weekend... make sure you hang on to them and bring them down every weekend... we’d like to stop spending a portion of the budget on red cups every week. Those teams that did not get them will get them this weekend, we have enough for 15 per team.
League T-shirts
Some shirts also went out to those that played who also got us their sizes... we are doing our best to give you guys the sizes you need, but since they were free, beggars can’t be choosers. We don’t have any Womens’s small (sorry Stilettos). Again, those teams that got us their sizes will get their shirts this weekend (We need sizes for: BSRmadillos, Bat Seals, Zomboree, Burnsiders, UGGH, and the French Revenge.) If there are left overs after all teams have gotten at least 15 shirts, we will pass more of them out, but sizes will of course be limited.
It was also noted by the famous Simon Vishnu that for the first time in the three years that Providence has gone down to Brooklyn for the Invitational, the PKL contingency will have a League Sanctioned Uniform. We encourage this, now that someone else has thought of it, and will do what we can to make sure the PKL-ers that go down to Brooklyn have a wonderful “Hi Neighbor” shirt. It also chafes other teams’ chaps to learn that Providence is sponsored by a beer company*.
* The PKL does not condone public drinking. We are all adults, and as long as we clean up nice nice, everone can have a good time in whatever fashion they choose.
