Hope you all who went had a good time in Brooklyn... now it’s time for our season to get back on track. 6 games, 12 teams will battle it out this weekend, and in the middle of IndieArts Fest. FUN STARTS AT NOON!!
It was a sunny day at the venerable Stan Lutchka field. Mid 80's, low humidity, not a cloud in the sky. Perfect kickball weather.
But where were the Pirates? The armadillos? The batseals? The rollers? The Stilettos? Ah yes this weekend is the 3rd annual Brooklyn Kickball Invitational. McCaren Park, Brooklyn, New York.
“Well shit” I thought to myself “What the hell are we* gonna do with all this delicious Narragansett Beer? Oh well guess we* gotta drink it.” Over the next six hours, we* polished off a solid 6 cases of narragansett while rocking out to Zeppelin, eating burgers, lighting off fireworks, and all the other cool things you do when you have no responsibilities and you want to make other people wicked jealous.
Thus was kickball’s week off spent.
Send us your Brooklyn kickball stories, We need to hear your trials, tribulations, victories and defeats, drunken hookups and throw-ups, bravery and beat downs, alliteration etc...
* and by we i mean the royal we as in the komission.
Here is the team photo of the group that taught Brooklyn how to have fun.
And here is a photo of the small team of Frenchies who took it to the Zombies in the drinking contest at the Penalty Box last week...
Our lovely Zombie girl Juh-ree is putting together a PKL 2008 Yearbook, and even hand-binding some of the books. Click here for some info and to get your photo taken!
